Since our inception, at Medicare System, we have been dedicated to the creation and development of innovative products for a variety of sectors, including hospital, geriatric, orthopedic, pharmaceutical, mental health, emergency services, technical aid stores, and home care. Our commitment lies in offering high-quality and competitively priced solutions, always from an ethical perspective and committed to well-being, empathy, patient dignity, and environmental sustainability.

In Spain, we have an extensive network of distributors that ensures the availability of our products throughout the national territory. Since 1998, we have expanded our presence internationally, exporting our products to four continents, thus strengthening our commitment to improving global healthcare.

OUR HISTORY

1974

Our founder, Manel Montero, began researching medical products and textile solutions for hospitals.v

1986

We are the first manufacturer of tubular bandages in Spain with our Lidermed®.v

1994

We started designing and marketing medical devices from Mataró (Barcelona).v

1995

We launched the first versions of our products Salvacel® and Salvapad®, brands that today we continue to export to different countries.v

1996

We started to manufacture our Salvafix®.v

1997

We made our first exports to hospitals in Germany and participated in the first international trade fairs.v

2006

In 2006, we improved our working hours to facilitate a better work-life balance for our team.v

2023

Today we export products and solutions to more than 60 countries in FIVE continents, having a wide international presence in congresses, international and domestic exhibitions & fairs, as well as regularly visiting all our distributors around the world. Our founder, Manel Montero, continues to contribute daily from our production facilities of more than 3,000 square meters in Mataró (Barcelona).v

Our multidisciplinary team, composed of 50 highly qualified experts, is dedicated to promoting sustainable growth and international expansion of our company.

We proudly highlight that 70% of leadership positions in our team are held by women, reaching 85% in the Production area. These figures not only reflect our policy on gender equality and diversity in the workplace but also highlight our commitment to innovation and operational excellence in developing advanced health solutions.

Environmental Commitment in the Health Sector

At Medicare System, we commit to sustainability in medical products, working on formulas for the reuse of medical textiles and reducing waste in their production. In our offices and manufacturing plants, we implement sustainable packaging practices, promoting the use of recycled materials such as cardboard and the reuse of plastic.

We are proud to affirm that our commitment to local and sustainable production is solid. We manufacture 95% of our products in Mataró (Barcelona), using our own technology, and the remaining 5% are produced within the national territory, ensuring a responsible and low-impact supply chain. In 2023, Medicare System continued to advance its environmental commitment by installing photovoltaic panels at our facilities, in addition to having completed the transition to LED technology for lighting and installing a charging point for electric vehicles, aligning with our policy of renewal towards plug-in hybrid or electric cars.

Social Action in the Health Sector

At Medicare System, we take our corporate social responsibility seriously by actively collaborating with various associations and NGOs, both nationally and internationally. Our contribution includes donating medical products in areas affected by health emergencies, alleviating the most immediate needs in vulnerable communities.

This initiative reflects our commitment to global health and solidarity, demonstrating our values through concrete actions that positively impact society.
